When the Work Feels Forced, Nothing Shines Through

I woke up ready to push my book forward and wanted no part of it. A personal view on rest I feel I have to earn, the old scripts behind it, and why I press on anyway.

When the Work Feels Forced, Nothing Shines Through

TW.com: Personal View

Today, the knowledge of understanding myself and my world instead took on a slight turn, understanding that instead, my world is more focused on output and proof of worth rather than just working on what I know to be true:
Resonance is what pushes work forward.

The thing is: I woke up today fully feeling like I was going to move myself and my book forward. I was ready to undertake six chapters I've now finished and are ready to be QA'd for drift, cohesion, and design. And that's the next logical step in this work while also moving onto Chapter 7's work, onwards up until Chapter 31 to finish this book.

Today, I wanted no part in any of it.

And I know it's because my Somatic Cues are screaming at me, "I need a break."

Forced Work Doesn't Flow

Here's what I've noticed about the days I push anyway: when I force the work, nothing flows. The words come out stiff. I rewrite the same sentence three times. I can sit there for hours and have very little to show for it, and what I do get on the page doesn't sound like me.

Forced work is just effort without resonance. It might fill a page, but nothing shines through it, because the part that makes it mine isn't in the room.

I Hold the Script That My Rest Must Be Earned

That's not the problem here.

The problem is that instead, I'm feeling like somehow my rest has to be earned and that this need to rest is the very deterrent to getting what I want.

And of course, the narratives instantly follow:

  • "I'm being lazy."
  • "I'm not doing enough and therefore, I'm failing."
  • "Your indecision and rest are signs of weakness."

Those are the old Echoes and Vast Unknown scripts playing, which I know stem from fallacies of a scarcity mindset, proving yourself through work, and constantly seeking validation from a world who has traditionally shunned me and pushed me aside.

My work in The Resonance Core Framework shows us this every day through The Reality Formation Sequence, its Judgment Loops, and how Data-Driven Decision-Making truly push us forward into who we wish to become while helping us rewrite the scripts of these past Echoes so those Cues and narratives die down.

The thing is, I know all of this.
And yet, they all feel so real, too!

Knowing and Living are Two Different Things

You see, it's one thing to just write about what you know is true.
And it's another thing to actually experience those Judgment Loops in real time.

The hardest part about knowing what I know and actually experiencing these things is that still, it's so easy to default to the old script because it's all I've ever known.

And when those moments of weakness happen, trying to live my framework's Core Values of Resilient Alignment, Embodied Awareness, and Creative Truth still become challenging even after everything I've written and known this past year.

And yet, I choose to press on anyway.

The Podcast and Writing Give Me Hope, Even When Things Point Toward Uncertainty

I do my podcast and writing not just because it gives me money, a way forward, job security, and so on. I also do so because I want to truly give people what I know to be true in my Creative Truth every day. Because I know so many people still experience these problems every day — having no idea how to resolve it or what to do to escape or work through their predicament.

And that drive is what pushes me to keep going — the desire to help people live their best selves. Hope. Love. Joy. Purpose. Existence.

The Resonant Identity Podcast gives me that.
The Resonance Core Framework book and workbook writing give me that.
My Fluxline business and ecosystem builds give me that.

As does knowing that we're all just trying to figure out life. And if I can help just one person with what I know to better their life, my business's life goal and purpose are met.

That's what pushes me forward:
Hope for a better world, and help to others who need it.
